A Super-Duper Quick Almost Midnight Macaron Update

... and yes, that is the technical term!

I thought I'd just share a photo of my most successful macarons so far - Double Chocolate and taken from Australian Women's Weekly Macaroons and Biscuits. I was a bit apprehensive because the batter looked far too thick (and apparently in Australia a macaron is called a macaroon) but they dried out perfectly, all came out of the oven with very dainty little feet and had a really lovely texture.

They also provided an excuse for me to show you the vintage paper coasters I bought in Wales last week. The girl in the shop laughed at me when I bought them. I can't imagine why....

...I think they're lovely!
